Terms of Use & Membership Terms
These Terms are a contract between you and coRise, operated independently by its founder ("coRise", "we", "us"), based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. They apply when you access our websites (corise.me and corisehq.com) or hold a coRise membership. If you do not agree, do not use the sites or the membership.
1. Nature of the service; no guarantees
coRise operates a peer community and related content for people navigating career and life decisions. We provide a space, introductions, and materials. We do not provide professional advice, and we make no promise about any particular outcome — including career, financial, legal, health, or personal results. Content and peer input are for general information only and are not a substitute for qualified professional advice. The sites and membership are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs through your membership and for keeping any access credentials secure.
- A membership is personal to you and may not be transferred or shared.
3. Membership
Founding member numbers and membership benefits are offered at our discretion and may change over time. Membership may currently be provided at no charge; if we introduce fees, we will give notice and obtain any required consent before they apply to you. Benefits described on our sites are indicative, not guaranteed, and depend on participation levels and available resources.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to allow anyone else to:
- harass, bully, threaten, defame, or discriminate against others;
- impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- post unlawful content, or content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or confidentiality rights;
- share another member's identity, contact details, or personal disclosures outside the community without their consent;
- send spam or unsolicited promotions, or use the community mainly to solicit or recruit;
- upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access, scrape data, or disrupt the service;
- use the service in breach of applicable law or our Community Guidelines.
Our Community Guidelines form part of these Terms.
5. Community management, suspension and termination
We may moderate content, and we may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate a membership where we reasonably believe these Terms or the Community Guidelines have been broken, or to protect members or the service. Where practical and appropriate we will give notice and a chance to respond, but we may act immediately in serious cases. You may leave at any time by contacting [email protected].
6. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant coRise a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display your content for the purpose of operating the community. You are responsible for having the rights to what you share.
7. Our intellectual property
The coRise name, logo, site design, and original materials are owned by coRise or its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to access and use them for your personal, non-commercial participation in the community. All other rights are reserved.
8. Third-party links and services
Our sites and community may link to or rely on third-party services (for example messaging platforms). We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, coRise excludes warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, opportunity, data or goodwill, where that loss is not caused by our failure to comply with a right or guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where the law permits us to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee in relation to services that are not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, our liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the relevant services or paying the cost of having the relevant services supplied again.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify coRise against reasonable claims, losses, and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service, to the extent permitted by law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify members and update the "last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria, Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. The parties will attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting [email protected] before starting proceedings.
